“What if you could see the world through the world eyes of the
Goddess, or could sit upon Her shoulders, like a small child, as she
points to the beauty and grace of the land? Crataire is what she was once called here, on this magical island of Crete. Some say that Crataire means “strong or ruling goddess.”This insight tells us that She and this land are one and the same sovereign being.
The best way to connect with this Sovereign Presence at the heart
of Crete’s culture, both ancient and modern, is to walk the Ancient Ways, moving slowly, telling stories as we go, and connecting through body, mind, psyche, and spirit, with the ancestors of those remarkable people who live on Crete today. And we guarantee, the food is some of the best you will ever experience! We will ascend Mount Ida, Crete’s highest peak, and visit Idaian
Cave, where for thousands of years people came for initiation into the Mysteries of the Great Goddess. We will visit the Minoan Palaces atKnossos, Malia, Kato Zakros, and Phaistos, and Minoan sacred burial grounds. We will walk the “Gorge of the Dead,” enter the cave Sanctuary of Eileithyia, Goddess of Childbirth, and descend into Dikti Cave, the traditional birthplace of the God Zeus. We will spend time in the south with its colorful beaches, fishing villages, Sanctuary of
Asklepios and Hygenia, and so much more! By the time we have completed our journey, we hope you will have come to know this land through Her eyes, the Eyes of the Goddess.”
