DETAILED TOUR TIMELINE

• Hike the beautiful Imbros Gorge

  You will start your day hiking Imbros Gorge, the second most popular gorge of Crete, to the south of Chania region. You will explore the beautiful nature of West Crete through the gorge’s unique flora, walking for as long as 11kms – not longer than 3 hours.

  The gorge is generally not steep and becomes narrower and narrower as you keep hiking, offering this way plenty of natural shadow.

• Enjoy Lunch in Komitades village

  In the beautiful, traditional village of Komitades, built on a location with a panoramic view of the Libyan Sea, you will enjoy a delicious lunch, based on typical local specialties.

• Explore the Historic Askifou Plateau

  Being driven through stunning landscapes, you will be able to explore Askifou Plateau. The Plateau is believed to have been a lake a couple of thousand years ago.

  This is a very important location in the long history of Cretans’ struggle for liberation, as a number of historic battles have taken place there. Today, there still remain a few monuments of the Cretan wars of Independence to be seen.
